Since 2017, when Opel became part of the PSA Group (now Stellantis), the German brand has been gradually equipping itself with Citroën and Peugeot technology. This apllies also to the realm of vans. Opel Movano is now a sibling of Peugeot Boxer and Citroën Jumper, from which it takes many of its features.

Thanks to its variability in size, weight and engines, the Opel Movano has become very popular with customers. The new generation makes an unobtrusive first impression, but on closer inspection it positively surprises with its excellent equipment, practical cabin ergonomics, well thought-out gearbox and even elegant lights.

Opel Movano: office on wheels

Although in other respects the Opel Movano is not a very sophisticated vehicle, the cabin will surely appeal to you. Compared to the previous model, many changes have been made to it. There’s a storage compartment, a writing pad integrated into the foldable middle seat, and navigation integrated into the touchscreen info panel.

The current generation is more user-friendly than ever before too. The car has a range of advanced assistance systems and technologies that make travelling with it safer and more comfortable.

A big plus of the car is the well-tuned gearbox. Not a single gear is too short or too long, which makes for a very comfortable ride.

Unexpected cargo space

The cargo volume can reach up to 17 cubic metres and the maximum payload of 4.5 tonnes. Depending on which of the 4 length and 3 height variants you choose. The low load ramp situated at 494 mm above the ground allows easy loading and, at an extra cost, the truck can have doors that open up to 270 degrees.

Motorisation

There are 3 different power derivatives of the 2.2-litre turbodiesel known as the 2.2 BlueHDi to choose from. Power output range from 88 kW to 121 kW when paired with a six-speed manual and front-wheel drive. Derivatives are also available to carry passengers and cargo, including various conversions. There is also an electric version of the model called Movano-e.

Although the Opel Movano doesn’t have bad driving characteristics, it’s contemporary rivals from Mercedes-Benz or Ford offer slightly better comfort and driving.
